Yes. DetectBuddy is free to use. You can record finds, organise your detecting memories, create collections, and use the core app experience without needing a subscription. Some advanced collector and presentation features are available with a PRO subscription.
DetectBuddy Pro unlocks the fuller collector experience, including premium collection display tools, curated exhibition features, premium card themes, richer media options, and expanded collection organisation. Pro is available through monthly or annual auto-renewing subscriptions. Open the app to see current pricing, availability, and subscription terms.
App Lock helps protect private detecting information by shielding access to DetectBuddy when protection is enabled. To restore access, you may need to use your App Lock key, so make sure you record this key and keep it somewhere safe. It is also recommended to allow Face ID, where available, so you can unlock the app quickly and securely without relying only on remembering your PIN.
DetectBuddy is designed around local, private record keeping. Your finds, routes, photos, notes, and collections are stored on your device rather than uploaded to a DetectBuddy account.
Yes. DetectBuddy lets you record detecting journeys, keep route history, and connect finds to the places where they were discovered.
Yes. You can capture and organise media for your finds so each discovery has its own visual record and story.
Yes. DetectBuddy includes collection tools so you can group finds by theme, trip, location, object type, or your own personal system.
DetectBuddy supports beautiful collection-style cards and QR-based sharing so your finds can be presented in a more museum-like way.
DetectBuddy supports GPX-based route import and export so you can work with your detecting journeys outside the app where supported.
