1. Acceptance of Terms

By using DetectBuddy, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Description of the App

DetectBuddy provides tools to record finds, organise collections, plan detecting activity, and track detecting routes.

The app is intended for personal use.

3. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for ensuring that your activities comply with all applicable laws and land access permissions.

DetectBuddy does not verify the legality of detecting activities.

4. User Content

All content created in the app, including notes, photos, videos, routes, collections, and related metadata, is owned by you.

This data is stored locally on your device unless you choose to export, share, or back it up using your device or Apple services.

5. Data Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining backups of your device and any DetectBuddy data you wish to keep.

DetectBuddy is not responsible for data loss resulting from device failure, deletion, app removal, operating system changes, storage issues, or other events outside the developer's control.

6. Subscriptions

DetectBuddy Pro is available as an optional auto-renewable subscription.

Subscription plans, billing periods, and prices are shown in the app before purchase and may vary by country or region.

Payment is charged to your Apple ID account through the App Store when you confirm the purchase.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period.

Your Apple ID account may be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period.

You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID App Store subscription settings.

If a free trial or introductory offer is available, eligibility and trial terms are shown in the app before purchase. After the trial or introductory period ends, the subscription renews automatically unless cancelled before renewal.

DetectBuddy does not process payments directly and does not receive or store your payment card details.

7. Pro Features and Availability

DetectBuddy Pro unlocks optional premium features shown in the app, such as enhanced collection display tools, curated exhibitions, premium card themes, and richer media tools.

Features may be updated, modified, added, or removed over time. Existing subscriptions continue to be managed through the App Store.

8. No Professional Advice

DetectBuddy is provided as a personal logging, organisation, route, and collection tool.

DetectBuddy does not provide legal, archaeological, historical, land access, conservation, valuation, or safety advice.

You are responsible for checking and following all applicable laws, reporting obligations, landowner permissions, local rules, and safety requirements.

9. No Warranty

DetectBuddy is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.

The app may depend on device hardware, Apple services, location services, weather services, maps, storage availability, and operating system behaviour, which may not always be available or accurate.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for damages resulting from the use of the app.

This includes, but is not limited to, data loss, location inaccuracies, route recording issues, missed finds, inability to access data, subscription availability, or reliance on app information.

11. Changes to the App

Features may be updated, modified, or removed at any time.

These Terms of Use may also be updated from time to time. The latest version will be made available through the app or the DetectBuddy website.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom.
